Description
At the Chicago World Fair in 1892/93, a vending machine was set up for the first time which was able to produce coins in an elliptical shape. These elongated coins also became known as “pressed pennies” or souvenir coins.
Meanwhile, vending machines of this kind can be found all around the world, enabling visitors to create their own souvenir. The colour of the coin inserted into the machine also determines that of the souvenir coin. Our pocket sized pressed penny album is an ideal travel companion and enables you to create a “travel diary” of souvenir coins over the years. This handy album with laminated covers comes with 8 inbound coin sheets with durable crystal clear inserts (free from chemical softeners). Each insert holds six coins each up to 33mm (1 1/4″) in diameter for a total capacity of 48 elongated coins.
Overall size: 4 1/8″ x 5 7/8″ (105 x 150mm)
