This Canadian Tire Numismatic Catalogue replaces the former Bilodeau Guide, Volume 1.
The 2017 ”Canadian Tire Numismatic Catalogue” contains all regular notes issued by the Corporation, the Petroleum Division and Simard-Montcalm. The vast majority are printed by the Canadian Banknote Company and British American Bank Note.
The preface has a brief biography of Ovide Bilodeau, a short history of Canadian Tire and “Canadian Tire Money”. Also included is information about the cataloging system, the printing and a description of grading paper money.
In the first chapter, there are 90 gas bar notes described with photos, catalogue numbers, high and low serial numbers, quantities printed and the value for the five usual grades.
The second chapter has more than 500 store notes making up the 34 different series, described with the latest prices and high and low serial numbers. All notes issued up until the end of July 2017 are included.
In the next chapter, there are 90 different “Sandy McTire” notes described with photos, catalogue numbers, high and low serial numbers, quantities printed and the value for the five usual grades.
The fourth chapter contains a brief history of the Simard family and their Canadian Tire stores. Nine sets of notes, 45 in all, were identified and described in detail with the value for the five usual grades.
The fifth chapter describes the latest rage of CTC collectors, “gift cards”, with over 550 different cards identified.
And finally, there is a chapter on errors, color variations and special serial numbers.
All in all there are nearly 700 images shown. This catalogue has a color cover, the interior is printed in black and white and the format is 8.5 “x 11”. It contains 144 pages.
