The inspiration and artwork was done by Martin Phillips of Citadel Coins and struck by John Masterson of Beaver Bullion.
“I was chatting with him on the phone a few months ago and he said he had a really fun idea for a new die for Beaver Bullion and if he could go ahead and have it made,” says John. “I really liked the counter-stamped silver dollars and large cents that he’s had made for Citadel so I was happy to trust his vision.”
And, behold, Beaver Bullion is now offering the ‘Beaver’ design on two pieces:
- A 5 troy oz .999 hand-poured silver button dated 2018 and serial number (encapsulated), AND
- A limited edition uniface one avdp oz pure copper round. Only 400 coppers will be struck.
“To the best of my knowledge,” say John, “it is the first ever limited edition bullion copper round ever made in Canada and I haven’t heard of one being made in the U.S. either. Normally copper rounds are struck by the 100,000’s if not millions and usually have American themes so I thought it would be fun to create a Canadian-themed one with a super-low mintage.”
Beaver Bullion has sold out its stock of the 400 Coppers.
