Description
THE STORY
She was Canada’s Queen, and every visit was a homecoming. During her long reign, Queen Elizabeth II made 22 official visits to Canada, more times than to any other Commonwealth nation. These travels brought The Queen to every province and territory, where, reunited with her Canadian “family,” Queen Elizabeth II joined in some our our greatest celebrations and milestones.
This 1/4 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin from the Royal Canadian Mint commemorates the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II. The most affordable piece in the Mint’s commemorative Queen Elizabeth II’s Reign collection, this coin’s selectively coloured reverse features the official portrait that was taken during The Queen’s last Canadian homecoming in 2010.
UNIQUE TRIBUTE
A uniquely Canadian tribute. In addition to the partial view of Queen Elizabeth II’s Canadian insignia as Sovereign of the Order of Canada and the Order of Military Merit, the colour portrait is surrounded by maple leaves that represent this nation and our special relationship with The Queen, who was the first sovereign to be separately proclaimed the Queen of Canada.
KEY FEATURES
- Colour over engraving. Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait is re-created using a combination of engraving and paint. This has been the image of The Crown in Canada since 2010.
